I am a qualified doctor who has been working in the field of medical communications for over 12 years now. I started writing when another medical writer friend of mine was overloaded with work and wished to outsource part of his work to me. When I got my first cheque for medical writing, I was not sure I wanted to be a professional medical writer. The only thing that I was sure about was that I loved what I was doing and was open for more such projects. Later, I expanded my interest in medical communication beyond just writing on healthcare related topics. I started to speak on health related topics. My first health speaking assignment was in December 2001 when I spoke to students at Jesus and Mary College in Delhi about Menstrual Health. Presently, I speak mostly on cancer and being a lady doctor, it is easier for me to connect with people when I speak to them about Breast Health.
